Mechanization of China's landscaping seedling industry is an inevitable trend
2020-09-30

According to incomplete statistics, there are currently more than 28,000 varieties of green seedlings in the world, and the number of varieties of seedlings in major foreign countries is very surprising. Take the Netherlands as an example. The nursery stock industry in the Netherlands is famous for its complete varieties. There are approximately 25,000 species and varieties of nursery stocks cultivated throughout the Netherlands, ranging from raw materials to finished large seedlings, products of various specifications. Dutch growers can almost meet the various needs of customers all over the world.

1. At present, the seedling industry in developed countries mainly has the following characteristics:

(1) Large-scale nursery construction. The scale of nursery construction in various countries in the world has a trend towards large-scale development. The number of nurseries is relatively reduced, while the scale of nursery nursery is gradually increasing. Some countries with advanced nursery stock industry generally believe that only by establishing large-scale nurseries can they have the conditions to realize the mechanization of nursery operations and effectively apply modern nursery technology, reduce nursery costs, and improve economic benefits. Therefore, the use of various garden machinery to promote the mechanization of seedling operations is an essential and important link;

(2) Intensification of nursery operations. In countries with a relatively high level of nursery operations, mechanized operations have been achieved in all processes from nursery site preparation, bed making, seeding, seedling management to seedling raising, packaging, and transportation. In addition, many advanced seedling raising technologies are used, such as land fumigation and disinfection technology, herbicide-killing technology, bed covering technology after sowing, and seedling root cutting technology. The application of computers in nurseries is also very common, from meteorological and phenological observations, irrigation, fertilization, and automatic control of pest control facilities to the management of technical files in nurseries, etc. have been computerized;

(3) Industrialization of container seedlings. More than 80% of nurseries in Brazil, Sweden, Norway and other countries have realized factory container nursery. The fourth is the standardization of nursery stock production. Seedling quality management goes deep into every link of nursery, and each stage has corresponding quality standards. The fifth is the professionalization of employees. Nursery directors generally graduated with a doctoral degree or a master's degree. Most of them are compound talents in production and management. 3-5 people on 300-500 acres are enough.
